Permanent Housing for Homeless Veterans at Fitzsimons
The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) and Colorado Coalition for the Homeless will host a groundbreaking event that will kick off the construction of permanent supportive housing for veterans experiencing homelessness.
The Veterans Renaissance Apartments at Fitzsimons will be located in Aurora on the Anschutz Campus on the south side of the Veterans Community Living Center at Fitzsimons.
Tuesday, Dec. 18, 10 a.m.
Reception following in the Veterans Community Living Center at Fitzsimons.
1919 Quentin St., Aurora, CO 80045
Follow signs — the groundbreaking and parking will be outside and behind the veterans home.
On June 1, 2016, Gov. John Hickenlooper signed House Bill 16-1397, which directed CDHS to develop two vacant parcels of land
surrounding the current veterans home. The development of this land was to be used to provide a continuum of care exclusively for veterans and qualifying family members. These apartments will provide permanent supportive housing for veterans experiencing homelessness.
