HOUSING

Building supportive housing has always been the central way in which the Coalition has created lasting solutions to homelessness. Now we’re making certain that our properties are environmentally sound, too.

The Coalition’s progressive housing development approach has placed one of our newest developments, Renaissance Riverfront Lofts, among the first green-built affordable housing projects in Colorado. Going green simply makes sense. It significantly reduces overall costs, especially for energy and water. This makes more donor dollars available for housing, medical and mental health care, substance treatment and child care programs that support our homeless families and individuals.

In our 25 years of service, we have developed 1,400 homes and continue to develop new properties for homeless individuals and families.  Our 16th affordable housing development, Renaissance Uptown Lofts, is scheduled to open in early 2011.

Several Coalition properties include four-bedroom apartment homes such as Renaissance 88, a development in Thornton for families. Some units are also modified for people living with disabilities.

The Coalition offers integrated housing at our properties for transitional residents, low-income and market rate residents alike. This eliminates the inevitable stigma that once was common in housing for the homeless. Our properties provide a safe environment in the transition from homelessness, easier access to educational and job opportunities and stability for individuals, families and communities.
