The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) reports that more than 76,000 men and women who served their country are homeless on any given night.
Estimates suggest that 136,000 are homeless sometime during the year. The most recent report by the VA to Congress found that poor veterans are more likely to become homeless than other adults living in poverty.
The Coalition responds to the unique needs of homeless veterans through its permanent supportive housing programs at our housing developments Civic Center Apartments and Beacon Place.
In 2010 the Coalition provided healthcare and support services to 708 veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces and provided permanent supportive housing and transitional housing for 260 of these individuals.
