I joined the Board of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless because I cannot imagine nor accept the desperation and hopelessness that must come from not having a safe and warm place to call home. As a mother of three, the number of homeless children is particularly distressing. It must be so difficult for them to learn the skills and gain the self-esteem necessary for them to be healthy and productive adults.
A safe and secure home is the first step toward achieving a lasting solution to whatever problems and issues led to homelessness in the first place. We owe this at a minimum to our neighbors. Homeless is a complex issue and CCH provides a broad spectrum of programs in addition to housing that are necessary to help each client/family effectively address their particular needs and remain off the streets.
