Giving homeless children a healthy start to the school year
One in 50 children in Colorado is homeless. The impact of homelessness on a child’s physical and mental health and on their behavioral and cognitive development can have serious consequences that last into their adult lives.
On Saturday, August 6, 2011 the Coalition will host its annual Back-to-School Healthy Kids Fair to help ensure that children living in motels, shelters or transitional housing get the basic health screenings and immunizations that they would otherwise miss. We’ll provide immunizations, dental care, hearing and eye exams, health education, hair cuts and a new backpack filled with school supplies.
Please donate school supplies - we're in the need of the items listed below. Contact Tommy Gordon at (303) 312-9639 for more information.
