DENVER (April 13, 2011) - Several hundred supporters of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless will come together Thursday, evening, May 12th at the historic Grant-Humphreys Mansion for a benefit that supports the Coalition’s mission to create lasting solutions to homelessness for homeless and at-risk families and individuals throughout Colorado.
Wine lovers and foodies won’t want to miss this event. Travel around the world (or room to room) tasting regional wines and delectable food pairings prepared by the ever popular Table 6. The restaurant was featured last year on the cover of 5280 Magazine’s March Issue as one of Denver’s top 25 restaurants. This is Table 6’s third year catering this event. “We couldn’t ask for a better setting or greater opportunity to give back to the community,” says Aaron Forman, Table 6 Owner-Sommelier, who is also known as “head dishwasher.”
“It’s an incredible value for guests combined with an opportunity to advance the critical work of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless,” says T.R. Reid, distinguished author and journalist, Coalition Board Member and Wine Tasting Event Chair. Tickets are $65. Last year’s event quickly sold out. “Earlier this year, the Coalition broke ground on West End Flats, our 16th affordable housing development. We’ve also launched a newly expanded employment program for our clients. Each year, the wine tasting event helps us raise awareness about the issues that lead to homelessness and supports more than 40 programs that help individuals and families rebuild their lives,” reports Reid. Tickets may be purchased at www.coloradocoalition.org/events or call 303-285-5227 for more information.
The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is recognized as a national leader in the integration of housing, healthcare and support services for persons experiencing homelessness – serving more than 16,000 men, woman and children a year. In 2010, less than 9% of the Coalition’s funding covered administrative and fundraising costs, well below the average for non-profit agencies.
The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. CCH advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being and stability of those it serves
