U.S. BANK AND COLORADO COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS PARTNER FOR “FRESH START” CAMPAIGN FEBRUARY 2 – FEBRUARY 12th
DENVER (Feb. 2, 2009) — U.S. Bank in Denver is partnering with the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless for the nonprofit organization’s “A New Home, A Fresh Start” campaign. The campaign’s goal is to create 100 move-in kits for homeless families and individuals who will move into new homes in March at the Renaissance Riverfront Lofts on Park Ave. in Denver.
Area residents can help in this effort by bringing donated kitchen, bathroom and cleaning supplies to any Denver metropolitan area U.S. Bank branch now through Feb. 12th. Items needed include hand towels, dish cloths, dish soap, can openers, paper towels, food storage containers, grocery store gift certificates, shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, hairbrushes, toilet paper, laundry soap, sponges and general purpose cleaning fluids.
“The U.S. Bank team is glad to help pitch in with the ‘Fresh Start’ campaign,” said Hassan Salem, president of U.S. Bank in Denver. “The Coalition provides valuable services to families and individuals in our community who are homeless. The contributions of the Coalition make Denver healthier and stronger.”
“The Coalition and our clients are grateful to the team at U.S. Bank,” said Jennifer Wilson, director of resource development and marketing for the Coalition. “Many of the families moving into Renaissance Riverfront Lofts are restarting their lives with next to nothing. These move-in supplies allow them to focus their limited resources on basic necessities like food and clothing.”
The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.
