Urge Your Congressional Delegation to Pass the FMAP Medicaid Extension Now!
Nearly all states, including Colorado, are finalizing their 2011 budgets that begin on July 1st. Many have already factored in an increase in the national share of Medicaid, known as the Federal Medical Assistance Percentage (FMAP).
At least 25 states, including Colorado, are already relying on this increased funding in their FY2011 state budgets.
The House and Senate have both passed legislation to extend this enhanced rate of federal funding for Medicaid, for six months, from January 1, 2011 through June 30, 2011.
But without swift enactment of a six-month FMAP extension, our state will be forced to make very deep cuts in programs that may negatively affect the Coalition's ability to provide health care to homeless men, women and children.
Congress must pass the FMAP extension now!
Please call your Colorado Congressional member today. Urge them to pass the FMAP Medicaid Extension. To find your member of Congress,
